The deadline for responses is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

New start date for Main Table

The WTPU Negotiation Team plans to meet with Spirit to start Main Table negotiations on Dec. 9.

The team’s original plan was to start negotiations the first week of December. However, with all that’s going on regarding the reunification with Boeing, it made sense to push the start date back a week.

WICHITA – The Wichita Technical and Professional Unit (WTPU) Negotiation Team has prepared a second survey that all WTPU SPEEA-represented employees are encouraged to fill out.

The WTPU survey - a follow-up to the one sent in September – covers health, safety and comfort issues; potential changes to workplace administrative procedures and it seeks guidance on possible ways to structure future pay increases.

Meet your negotiation team! Plan to attend one (or more) of the three lunchtime “Meet the Team” sessions: Monday, Nov. 3 at the HRSC Gymnasium Thursday, Nov. 6 in Bldg 1-198D, Conf Rm 200 Friday, Nov. 7 in Bldg 3-190O Auditorium All meetings are from 11 a.m. to noon.

If you’re a SPEEA-represented employee in the Wichita Technical and Professional Unit (WTPU), we need your input to prepare your SPEEA contract proposal!

Our next contract will affect all of us. We need to hear from everyone to help us decide what to prioritize in negotiations.

We will be developing our proposal throughout the fall and will begin Main Table bargaining in December. We hope to have a final offer ready to vote by the end of January 2026.

Deadline: Midnight, Friday, Oct. 3.

How we succeed

We can gain more in bargaining through increasing membership, visibility and good communication.

Remember - management is preparing their first proposal, too. They’ll use our membership numbers to decide how much to offer us.

The best way to increase our ability to improve our wages and benefits (besides taking this survey) is to join our union today—or talk to a coworker about joining.
