Below is a list of committees, their description, the Chair's name and phone number and the regular meeting date & time. [NOTE: The regular meeting may change, so check the newsletter for accurate times, dates and locations.]

Any member who would like to join a committee is welcome.

Benefits Committee

Time: Inactive

This committee provides a two-way avenue for communication with members about Boeing Benefits. They investigate possible improvements and gather information on benefit problems and successes to be used for negotiation preparation.

Governing Documents Committee

Meeting Time: 4th Wednesday at 5 PM Central Time

This committee develops changes it deems necessary, based on its own review of the Governing Documents and/or request of the Midwest Regional Council or other governing body. They review Midwest Regional Council action for inclusion in the Midwest Regional Policy Manual. This committee recommends and proposes new policies as the need arises. Prior to any printing of the SPEEA Governing Documents and/or any amendments thereto, the Chair or designee of the Midwest Regional Governing Documents Committee must certify the final draft of said publication in writing. This committee reviews, maintains and proposes revisions to SPEEAs governing documents and review and recommends policy on affiliation and mergers. The Midwest Committee maintains the Midwest governing documents; they also work with the National committee for the National governing documents.

Joint Oversight Committee (JOC)

This committee works with the Company to discusses issues.

Legislative & Public Affairs Committee

Meeting Time: 3rd Thursday at 4:30 pm

This committee analyzes pending government legislation and candidate's positions and their impact on SPEEA and our members. The committee presents its findings and recommendations to the Midwest Council for action.

Membership Activities Committee

Meeting Time: 1st Tuesday of the month at 4:30 pm.

This committee is responsible for planning & implementing social activities for the Midwest Membership.

Meeting Time: Inactive

This committee reviews committee budgets prior to compiling and establishing the Midwest Council Budget. They also help to track the budget usage during the year to report back to the Council. (New officers have not yet been elected)

Women's Advocacy (WAC)

Meeting Time: Inactive

This committee provides a focus for the Midwest Region on those problems and issues of particular concern to women employees. They provides a source of information, education and involvement which will address the Midwest Regional policies, procedures and contract issues for the benefit of the bargaining units.
