STAFF BIO's

LAURA ANDERSON
Contract Administrator

Laura earned a B.A. in urban planning (concentrating on budget management) at the University of Maryland's Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences. She then went on to David C. Clarke School of Law in Washington, D.C.

She worked as a research assistant to Constitutional Law Professor Herbert Summel, interned with former Washington state Supreme Court Justice Robert Utter and graduated with her law degree in 1984. She has held a variety of jobs including: attorney-public defender in Seattle's Society of Council Law Offices, deputy prosecutor in the Douglas County prosecutor's office, assistant city attorney for the city of Bremerton, assistant city attorney for LeSourd & Patten Attorneys at Law, adjunct instructor of legal & business courses at Crown College and South Seattle Community College and most recently was attorney for the Department of Assigned Counsel, representing defendants in Pierce County District Court.

Laura is an activitist in her community and enjoys spending time with her two children.


JESSICA BONEBRIGHT
Research Director

Jessica, who most recently served as Secretary on SPEEA's Executive Board, has been chosen to take over the job of SPEEA Research Director following transfer of Kurt Hanson to the job of co-Director of ITEA.

Jessica brings knowledge, enthusiasm and perseverance to her new role on the SPEEA Staff.

She was raised in Minnesota and South Dakota. Jessica later moved to southern California to attend college. She earned her B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State in December 1986. While going to college, she worked as an operator for AT&T where she was a member of the Communications Workers of America (CWA). She participated in two lengthy strikes during her seven years with AT&T.

In 1987, Jessica was hired by Boeing. She has worked in both Defense & Space and Commerical Divisions including the B-1B program, 777 High Lift, Avionics Flight Systems Lab and Solid State Electronics Development organization.

Jessica became a SPEEA activist early in her career. She found herself in an area with no Area Rep or Council Rep and assumed those responsibilities. She served on the SPEEA Council for three years, including one year as Council Program Chairman, prior to being elected to the Executive Board in March 1996. She also participated as a member of numerous committees, including: Membership Recruitment, Strike Preparation, Legislative & Public Affairs, and Women's Advocacy Committee. She was elected to represent Professional Unit members on the 1995 SPEEA Negotiation Team, where she co-chaired the Pay Practices and Workforce Subcommittees.

Jessica has served as: a BEGNF Booster, coordinator for "Take Our Daughters to Work Day"; building coordinator for Boeing's Holiday Outreach "Toys & Gifts"; volunteer for Boeing Community Connection Adopt-A-Family and Books-for-Kids programs; volunteer tutor; volunteer on the Democratic Party campaign; and speaker for "Today's Choices" talking about engineering as a career. She lives in Tukwila and enjoys reading and skiing. She is a member of the Association of University Women.

As SPEEA's Research Director, Jessica will support SPEEA's staff who utilize the data systems, perform salary data analysis, produce salary charts, maintain our issues data-base, and serve as focal on Boeing's salary systems and employee benefit programs. She will also serve as staff focal for the Joint Compensation Discussion Group.

Jessica is hopeful that SPEEA-represented employees will join together and strengthen our Union in order to achieve our goals.


BOB BREWER
Wichita Contract Administrator

Born and raised in Wichita, Bob graduated from Derby Senior High School. He attended Cowley County Community College in Ark City, Kan. where he earned an Associate of Science degree in Industrial Technology. He went on to Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. and earned a B.S. in manufacturing technology (graduating Summa Cum Laude 4.0).

Bob served two years in the military, stationed in Washington, D.C., in the Army's Honor Guard (which included guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier). He hired on with Boeing in 1973 as a tool crib storage attendant. From there he went into the Machine Shop. In 1975, he left Boeing to build residential homes for five years. He came back to Boeing in 1980, working as a Tool Analyst. Over this period, he spent six years in the hourly payroll, represented by IAM and 11 years in management. Most recently, he worked in Facilities Acquisitions.

Bob was the Chairperson for the initial Wichita Technical & Professional Unit Negotiation Team in 2001. During negotiations, Bob put in hours of preparation and effort, helping to organize, educate and lead the team and the WTPU members to an outstanding contract.

Bob joined the SPEEA staff in 2001. He is responsible for the Contract Administrator duties associated with the Wichita Engineering Unit and Wichita Technical & Professional Unit. Additionally, these responsibilities cover the SPEEA Boeing Irving Facility in Texas. IIn February 2002 Bob negotiated the Irving contract and then the Wichita Engineering contract in the fall of 2002. Bob enjoys the negotiation process and challenges associated with each every contract he is involved with.

Bob lives in the country with his wife Lori, and raises miniature horses. Other hobbies include golf, mountain biking and hiking.


BILL DUGOVICH
Communications Director

An accredited Public Relations professional, Bill joined the SPEEA staff in 2000 after operating his own public relations and marking company. Previous to joining the staff, he was public relations consultant for SPEEA during three negotiations. He is in charge of internal and external communications. The duties include overseeing writing and production of the printed publications and serving as the union’s media relations specialist.

Bill is a member and past board member of the Puget Sound Chapter of the Puget Sound Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He is a member of PRSA’s Counselors Academy. He is a past president of the Kent Rotary Club.

A graduate of the University of Washington, Bill holds a BA in Communications. He studied photography at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif.. During his college years, Bill worked at The Boeing Company in Renton.

Bill and his wife Cathy make their home in Kent with their children Ashley and Nick. His hobbies include bicycling, backpacking and mountaineering.


LORI DUPUIS
Web/Graphic Designer

Lori began her career in graphic design working as an Art Director for 5 years with a local company. She has developed her skills in the design field over the last 24 years in design, print and photography sales and managing various print shops along with running her own design company for 6 years. In August 2002, Lori Dupuis joined SPEEA’s staff as our graphic and web designer.

Lori lives in Renton with her husband Phil (Boeing employee) and two children, son Jordan and daughter Sydney.


ANN EATON
Financial/Legal Coordinator

SPEEA hired Ann Eaton to help out with a variety of tasks in the records and billing departments. She brings with her a wealth of experience in computer applications along with enthusiasm and willingness to learn. As assistant to SPEEA’s general counsel, she has completed various paralegal classes at Highline Community College.

Ann was born in Brunswick, Ga., but spent her childhood moving to various locations with her family as her dad was in the Navy. She moved to this area and graduated from Highline High School. She worked as an hourly employee at the Boeing Company for three years in Everett's Production Assembly group. She decided to change careers and worked at various local companies doing billing, planning and other administrative duties. Most recently, she worked for Totem Equipment Company as a service administrator in their service department.

Ann has two children and twin grandchildren. She enjoys billiards, reading, and growing houseplants.


ELLA FARRELL
Membership Services Coordinator

Ella Farrell's training as a court reporter will serve her well in her role of attending meetings and taking minutes. She will also participate in membership support activities, discounters and general administrative tasks, such as answering the phones.

In addition to her background in court reporting, Ella served in the Navy as a yeoman (secretary) on a destroyer for two years.
She also has a lot of experience in the non-profit arena. She worked as the administrator for “Forward Together/The Forever Green Project” for Tacoma, Wash. This organization focuses on education, transportation, parks and recreation issues. In that role, she worked with many elected officials in Pierce County.

Prior to SPEEA, she also worked as an assistant to an insurance agent, where she said she learned a lot about contracts and policies.

Ella said she’s looking forward to contributing to SPEEA. “If you need help, I’m available,” she said, adding that she loves variety and supporting others.

She and her husband, Adam, live in Graham with her 12-year-old daughter, Shelby. Ella’s interest in animals goes beyond her pet dogs, cats and birds. She has been known to take in strays to find homes for them and also likes to feed the wildlife near her home.

In her spare time, Ella likes to read, watch movies and write fiction.


ROBIN FLEMING
Executive Director's Secretary

Robin Fleming has been with SPEEA since 1999 as personal secretary to Charles Bofferding,SPEEA Executive Director.

Born in New Mexico, Robin moved with her family to Renton, Wash. at the age of five. Previous jobs include merchandising and executive secretary for a confectionery broker.

Robin lives in Maple Valley with her husband John (a SPEEA member), and three children: Bobby, Dylon and Alanna. They enjoy camping and golfing, and she likes to read and cook.


FRANK GUGLIELMO
Contract administrator

Frank Guglielmo joined SPEEA as a contract administrator in the Seattle office in August 2006. A native New Yorker, heʼs been a union member and advocate for over 13 years.

Prior to SPEEA, Frank worked as a union organizer for the UFCW. He successfully organized and represented workers at non-union supermarkets, department stores, nursing homes and state workers.   In addition to contract administrative work and organizing, his resume includes a laundry list of political campaigns heʼs worked on. 

He graduated from State University of New York (SUNY) with a major in industrial labor relations. While at SUNY, at Old Westbury, NY, he worked as chief writer and co-editor on the weekly newsletter of the Industrial Labor Relations department. He also wrote a monthly article for the school newspaper.

Frank is currently enrolled in graduate school at the University of Massachusetts (UMASS), Amherst in the Union Leadership and Administration (ULA) program. 

In his spare time, Frank likes to take his black spaniel-mix, Hannah, to the dog park  and other outdoor activities.  He also likes to get involved in his community in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle.
 


TERRY HALL
Records Department

Terry has extensive computer systems/applications experience, plus a knowledge of The Boeing Company. Most recently she was a Data Technician at Boeing - recording, tracking and distributing engineering change documents for Engineers and Drafters. She also worked in Technical Publications for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, as a product data management specialist.

At SPEEA she will serve as Records Department Administrator, maintaining records of all new member applications, temporary medical insurance coverage for new hires, recruitment activity, and Council Rep and Area Rep records.

Born and raised in California, Terry studied business administration at Moorpark Community College in California. She came to Seattle in the 1980's, then moved to Wichita, and is now back in Seattle.

We welcome her enthusiasm, and believe she possess the skills necessary to handle this critical job.

RICH KREMNETZ
Printing/Mailing Department Manager

Rich Kremnetz, who was born and raised in Washington state, has over 32 years of experience in the printing industry. The quality appearance of SPEEA's numerous publications is due in large part to his hard work.

Rich hired into SPEEA in August 1983 and was given the responsibility to operate the printing and mailing departments. This tremendous responsibility includes managing the operations of the following press room equipment: collator, inserter, folders, paper-cutter, platemakers, three presses and the direct-print envelope labeler. He is also in charge of keeping an inventory of paper on hand.

Rich is known for remaining calm under pressure and producing quality printing within an often-limited time schedule. He has streamlined the operation, keeping up with the high volumes of printing and mailings that are produced by SPEEA. He is responsible for printing the weekly SPEEA Newsletter, the monthly SPOTLITE and all other printed publications for the SPEEA membership and preparing them for mailing. He is also responsible for maintaining and updating SPEEA's computerized phone system. If something in the office is broken or needs assembly, we generally call on him.

Rich lives with his wife Pattie in Auburn and enjoys genealogy.


CAROLYN K. LANDIS
Secretary/Receptionist

As SPEEA's daytime receptionist, Carol's voice is usually the first one you will hear when you call the SPEEA office.

Carol was born and raised in this area and attended Peterson Business College. Her previous employment experience includes five years with D. A. Duryee Real Estate, 4 years with Home Health Care of Washington, and 6 years with Crocker Bank of California in Lompoc, CA.

Carol began working for SPEEA in June 1990. As the receptionist, she was quick to catch on to the inner workings of SPEEA. Answering members' questions on the phone required that she quickly learn a variety of details.

In addition to answering the volumes of phone calls that come into the office, she also coordinates all evening committees. She contacts all committee members to confirm attendance, and coordinates with various food suppliers for our after-hour meetings.

Carol is in charge of all aspects of our New Car Purchase Plan, working with the car dealers to assure that our auto discount information is up to date. She types nearly all committee minutes, and opens and distributes incoming mail. She also types letters and performs other secretarial functions as necessary.

Over the years, Carol has seen many positive changes at SPEEA. She welcomed SPEEA's new phone system, installed in 1991, which allows members to contact other staff persons directly.

Carol resides in South Seattle and enjoys reading, bowling and tennis. She also likes antiques and collects antique perfume bottles.


SHEILA MARTINEZ
Staff Assistant & Event Planning Coordinator

Sheila was born and raised in the Seattle area. She grew up in Federal Way and graduated from Federal Way High School. She also completed some business courses at Highline Community College, and earned a diploma in the Executive Word Processing

Secretary Program at the Eton Technical Institute in Federal Way.

Sheila previously worked as a secretary and administrative assistant at several firms in this area, including BPI, Inc.; GTW Corporation; Kelly-Moore/Preservative Paints; Billy McHale's Corporation; Roman Meal Company; Precision Aerospace & Composites; and Judson Park Retirement Community. She brings with her the requisite typing, shorthand and computing skills.

She is also very detail-oriented, a good organizer, and dedicated to her work. She is looking forward to joining our team and putting her skills to work as a positive, self-motivated team-player.

Sheila enjoys white-water rafting and other water-sports, including jet-skiing and boating. She is into health & fitness and likes to spend time with her friends.


KAREN MCLEAN
Publications Editor


Born and raised in Fort Wayne, In., she earned her B.A. in journalism at the University of Iowa. After graduating, she worked at a variety of small-town newspapers in Iowa, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In 1993, she moved to Port Angeles, Wash., to work at the Peninsula Daily News. During her journalism career, she held positions of writer, editor, page designer, and photographer.

Karen later moved to Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, where she worked as a communications specialist, and then became a project manager for organizational development.
The International Association of Business Communicators awarded Karen a Certificate of Excellence in 2000 for her newsletter redesign. She was also presented with a Communicator of Excellence award for internal communications in 1998 from the Washington Press Association.

Her hobbies include hiking, photography and museums (especially art and history). . She lives in West Seattle with her husband, David.

BISHOP MOORE JR. (BJ)
Wichita Contract Administrator

BJ Moore joined SPEEA in April 2002 as a contract administrator in Wichita. He comes to us from Boeing where he worked in manufacturing as a planner since 1989. Moore was born and raised in Larned, Kan. He received a B.A. in communications with a minor in minority studies from Wichita State University where he also played football. B.J. was a member of "Organizing Oz," on the Employee Relations Committee and has also served as an Area Rep with SPEEA.

Moore lives with his wife Lillian and four children: Yolanda, Amber, Bishop and Elizabeth. He enjoys playing golf and being a football and basketball official in his spare time.


MARK MOSHAY
Contract Administrator

Born and raised in southern California, Mark joined the US Navy in 1973. He attended their Defense Information School, earning certificates as a journalist, broadcaster and closed-circuit TV operator. He served in the Navy as a journalist & broadcaster, managing the command Public Affairs Office, editing a weekly newsletter and operating a closed-circuit TV/radio station.

He later entered the marine electrical trade and achieved journeyman status. He was promoted to ships scheduler, working at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyards in Bremerton. While there, he served as a columnist in the Puget Sound Navy News, writing a weekly column "Inside the Gate," offering a union viewpoint on issues at the nation's largest public shipyard. Later he wrote a column, "From a Union Perspective" in the national publication L&ER Update, dealing with issues in the federal sector.

At age 16, he joined the Retail Clerks Union in California as a grocery-store box boy. In 1980, he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 574. He served as shop steward, edited their monthly newsletter and was elected to their Executive Board.

In 1990, he graduated from Olympic College with an Associate Technical Arts degree in electrical engineering.

In 1992, he was elected as President of Planners-Estimators, Progressmen & Schedulers (PEPS), IFPTE Local 6, at the Bremerton shipyards. He has been editing their local newsletter and helped increase membership in that open shop facility from 80 members to 270 members in less than 4 years. In 1994, he was elected Vice President of the Kitsap County Central Labor Council.

Mark was hired as a Contract Administrator at the Everett Office in May of 2000. He lives in Bremerton with his wife Jeanne. They have three grown children.


SUSANNE MURPHY
Everett Office Administrator
Born in Omaha, Neb., Susanne toured the country as an Army brat. She moved to Seattle in 1984 when her father was assigned to Fort Lewis. She attended Lakes High School in Tacoma and earned a dental assistant certificate from Clover Park Technical College. She worked at Fort Lewis first as a dental assistant, then x-ray technician and finally at the front-desk scheduling. She has also operated a switchboard and worked in marketing.

Susanne now lives in Everett with her husband Shawn. She enjoys reading, drawing and computers.

MARIA NELSON
Ed Wells Partnership
Maria began her career as a union representative right out of college as a Field Representative for the Public School Employees of Washington union. While there, she was responsible for negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements for 22 bargaining units in school districts throughout Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom and King county.

Maria was hired by SPEEA as a Contract Administrator in April of 1986. Throughout her tenure at SPEEA she represented members at every Puget Sound Boeing location with the exception of Auburn. Maria has also been the focal for training and leadership development activities at SPEEA since she was first hired. She left SPEEA in 2002 to join the Ed Wells Initiative.

Maria lives in Renton with her husband and two children. In addition to spending time with her family, her interests include swimming, biking, playing the piano, cooking and reading. She is attempting to learn how to rollerblade, play tennis and lift weights in her spare time.

Maria’s educational background includes a B.S. degree in Psychology and a M.S. degree in Industrial Psychology (Applied Behavior Analysis) from Western Michigan University - graduating Cum Laude.


Martin Pascual
Director of Information Technology

Martin Pascual went to work for SPEEA in March 2007, as the director of information technology.

Pascual’s primary duties are to keep the technology working, whether that’s fixing old computers, setting up new ones or researching new technology. He’s also looking into solutions for SPEEA’s teleconferencing.

He graduated with a degree in business information systems from The University of Phoenix. Previous jobs included support engineer at AppWorx, Bellevue, support specialist at GuestWare, Seattle, application support at Key Payroll Online, Bellevue, and technical support specialist at Paychex, Renton.

Pascual lives with his wife, Alecia, and their two boys, Jesse, 11, and Diego, 4, in Bellevue. He works at Best Buy on the weekend, more for fun than for money. “Computers are not just my job, they’re my hobby,” he said.

He plays soccer, and used to play competitive softball. He also coaches whatever team Jesse is on at the time – lacrosse in the spring, football in the fall and basketball in the winter.


RICH PLUNKETT
Contract Administrator

Rich Plunkett was hired by SPEEA in 1997. He has a B.S. degree in electronic engineering and is a graduate of the Harvard Trade Union Program.

Rich was a Boeing engineer for 12 years prior to working at SPEEA. During those years he served a variety of voluntary posts for SPEEA, including Area Rep, Council Rep, Negotiations Team member and member of the Executive Board.

As a Contract Administrator and Organizer, Rich specializes in workforce and pay practice issues. He also assists various SPEEA committees and conducts training sessions for SPEEA volunteers.

EMILY ROBINSON
Receptionist/Front Desk

Emily Robinson is our SPEEA evening receptionist. Robinson works until the SPEEA office closes (at 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 4:30 p.m. on Fridays).

Although she’s new to unions, she’s no stranger to SPEEA. Robinson’s grandmother, Marvella Robinson, worked at SPEEA for about nine years and retired just after the SPEEA strike in 2000.

“My grandmother saw in the SPEEA publications that Nita Bergsma was retiring and urged me to apply,” said the younger Robinson. “She said it was a wonderful union to work for and a great job for me.”

Robinson lives with her daughter, Madison, and her sister, Kate in Fife. Her hobbies include travel, movies, reading, snowboarding and ‘any water sports.’


PHYLLIS ROGERS
General Counsel

Phyllis Rogers has served as SPEEA's General Counsel since 1998. Prior to her appointment to this position she served as a SPEEA Staff Attorney. Phyllis advises the union on all areas of labor and employment law including contract administration, arbitration, matters filed with the National Labor Relations Board, organizing, internal union governance and compliance with applicable federal regulations.

She served as legal counsel during SPEEA's affiliation with IFPTE, the Wichita organizing campaign, SPEEA negotiations and strike of 2000, the addition of an agency fee clause to the Puget Sound based collective bargaining agreements and Wichita’s WTPU negotiations. Phyllis serves as legal counsel at all main table contract negotiations.

She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and Seattle University School of Law. Prior to joining SPEEA, she was employed by the Washington State Attorney General's office, King County and Swedish Medical Center.


BOB ROMMEL
Assistant Executive Director

Bob was born and raised in Seattle. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington, concentrating in human resources and marketing. He is also a graduate from the Teamsters Labor Academy in Washington, D.C.

A rank-and-file Teamster since the early 1970's, Bob eventually joined the Teamster's union staff. He served as a Business Agent for five years and as an Organizer for two years. His responsibilities included contract negotiations, grievance/arbitration, organizing, training, public relations and newsletter preparation.

Bob has negotiated numerous private carrier agreements on labor's side, specializing in first agreements with newly-organized firms. In 1990, Bob participated in negotiating the UPS/Teamsters national agreement.

Bob's previous union/organizing experience and special rapport with the members have proven to be beneficial to his job with SPEEA.

SPEEA hired Bob from the Teamsters in March 1992. Bob works the majority of his time at the SPEEA's Everett Hall, serving as contract administrator for employees working in that area. Bob has participated as one of the staff focals for SPEEA's Negotiations since 1999, as a Co-Chair of the Joint Employee Relations Committee. He is also SPEEA's focal for the Joint Drug & Alcohol Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Snohomish County, the Puget Sound Labor Agency, and the Snohomish County Labor Council. Bob also is the Shop Steward for his fellow exempt SPEEA staff members represented by Public, Professional & Office-Clerical Employees and Drivers (Teamsters) Local #763. Bob is a long-time member of the Industrial Relations Research Association.

Bob makes his home in Arlington and spends much of his time with his wife and children. He also enjoys all sports, camping and long vacations. In his spare time, (if he actually has some), he keeps himself busy by tending to the ever-growing list of chores on his five acres “estate”.


DEBBIE SHEPHARD
Wichita Contract Administrator

Born and raised in Wichita, Debbie graduated from Wichita High School West and recently earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management from Wichita State University. She has two sons, Nick, age 19, and Cliff, age 16. Debbie enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, and making crafts.

Prior to joining SPEEA's Wichita team, Debbie worked for just under 5 years at Boeing as a Maintenance Analyst III. It was after being laid-off from Boeing, January 2002, that she returned to college full-time and finished her degree. Debbie spent over eight years as a municipal city clerk and ten years as an assistant branch facility manager at a local commercial bank.



STAN SORSCHER
Labor Representative

Stan Sorscher hired on with SPEEA in 2000 and serves as the labor representative. His assignments vary based on his many talents and SPEEA's needs.

Born and raised in Flint, Mich., Stan attended the University of Michigan where he earned his B.S. in physics. Later he earned his Ph.D. in physics at the University of California at Berkeley. He worked as an instructor at the University of Utah; research assistant at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory; and lab-tech at the University of Michigan Medical School, Pharmacology department. He moved to the Seattle area and hired on with Boeing in 1980 as part of the Noise Technology staff and later moved to the nondestructive evaluation R&D group in Renton.

Stan has served as a SPEEA Council Rep, member of the Judicial Review Committee (SPEEA's highest body), on two Prof Unit Negotiation Teams (1995 & 1999) and on the SPEEA Executive Board (1997-2000). He assisted in creating and compiling results of negotiations surveys for our Negotiation Preparation Committee in 1995 and 1999. He has been a member of the Joint (SPEEA/Boeing) Benefits Committee since the 1995 negotiations. In 1999 negotiations, he served as Prof Team Chair and was instrumental in helping negotiate our final settlement following our 40-day strike.

In 1995, Stan helped to create SPEEA's webpage and continues to help keep it up-to-date. He has authored numerous articles for SPEEA publications and has recruited 31 new members. He is extremely knowledgeable of our contracts, and he enjoys researching and creating charts & graphs to accompany his articles.

Stan lives in North Seattle with his wife, Judith Arms. He enjoys softball, roller coasters, skiing, camping, serving on the board of his neighborhood community club and learning important lifelessons from his two children who recently moved out on their own.


PAULINE TAMBLYN
Comptroller

Pauline Tamblyn is a native Northwesterner, born and raised in Portland. She is the eldest of three children (one brother and one sister). She left the Northwest to attend college, receiving her B.S. in accounting from the University of Southern California. She has since obtained her CPA and completed the Executive MBA program at the University of Washington.

Following graduation, she worked for a number of years in southern California. In 1998, she returned to the Northwest to be closer to her family (including her two nieces and two nephews). Her work experience includes a large public accounting firm and a number of entertainment production companies.

Pauline is married to her childhood sweetheart. Their hobbies include camping, often times with 50 other family members!

As to the reputation the public holds of her profession, she replies, "Accounting is an aptitude, not a personality."


DEAN TUDOR
Ed Wells Initiative/SPEEA-Boeing Partnership Effective Partnership Program Manager

Dean is a fifteen-year SPEEA employee who links local SPEEA-Boeing partnerships in Puget Sound and Wichita to the resources of the Ed Wells Initiative/SPEEA-Boeing Partnership. In this role he supports the development of local partnerships as effective forums for identifying and working together on issues of mutual concern to SPEEA, its represented employees, and the company.

LAURA WENTWORTH
Contract Administrator

Laura Wentworth joined the SPEEA Everett office as a contract administrator in August 2006. She has more than 10 years of experience in the labor movement, working as an organizer and union representative/business agent (serving in similar roles as the SPEEA contract administrators).

In her work for labor unions, she successfully negotiated domestic partner benefits while at AFSCME, developed a first-time political action program at the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and implemented an organizing program at the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW).

Other accomplishments include the Spirit of Labor award from the United Way of Snohomish County (she was the youngest recipient) and graduating with a 4.0 grade point average from the National Labor College in 2006. She received a Distinguished Paper Award for her research and writing on how to help military reservists returning to work.

She’s worked on presidential campaigns in Iowa for Howard Dean and John Kerry as well as working as campaign manager for Jeri Costa’s state senate race, campaign manager for Bob Dantini, Snohomish County treasurer race, and volunteer coordinator for Bob Drewel, Snohomish County executive campaign.

Wentworth is married to Randy Wentworth, who shares her passion for politics and community involvement. Their family includes daughter, Caitlyn, and three dogs, Quincy, Jackson and Teddy (for those wondering, the connection to past presidents is correct).
