"People are the best thing there are..." - Ed Wells A joint SPEEA/Boeing effort to enhance
The Ed Wells Initiative is a joint program of Boeing and SPEEA. It works to improve the technical excellence of the company by linking technical competencies required to meet company business objectives with opportunities for enhanced education and training, career development and skill utilization and application for employees. The Initiative was established as part of the 1995 SPEEA/Boeing collective bargaining agreements, renewed in the 2000 agreements and is funded annually by the company at a minimum of $4.5 million. It serves all SPEEA-represented employees throughout the company. The Initiative is governed by a joint company-union policy board. It is led by company and SPEEA co-directors, and administered by SPEEA-represented employees, company managers and SPEEA staff.
