About Trade Act

Trade Act provides federal funding to assist eligible laid-off workers. This funding is a direct result of a petition supported by SPEEA, the International Association of Machinists (IAM) District 751 and the Washington State Labor Council.

To receive the funding, you need to apply by working with a Trade Act counselor at your local WorkSource office.


Benefits include:

· Re-training funding for tuition

· Weekly allowances while in training

· Health insurance premium subsidy

· Wage subsidy for people who are 50-plus

· Job search allowances

· Relocation allowances


Eligibility:

Boeing workers who:

· Were laid off between May 22, 2008 and Oct. 19, 2011

· Worked for or supported Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) programs or products

· Live or work for Boeing in Washington state or Oregon
