SPEEA headcounts and Non-Boeing labor by job code

SPEEA contracts require Boeing to first release contractors (all levels) in major organizations’ job codes targeted for layoffs before laying off direct employees in those job codes.

The links below show a comparison of SPEEA represented and non-Boeing labor head count by bargaining unit, state, major organization, job code and level (Techs only).

In case of layoffs:

  • Profs are laid off by job classification (all grade levels) beginning with the lowest retention. (R3, R2, R1)
  • Techs are laid off by job classification beginning with the lowest level, and lowest retention. (Grade Level 1 – R3, R2, R1; Grade Level 2– R3, R2, R1; and so on.

SPEEA will monitor layoff activity to ensure that contractors are released prior to represented employees being laid off, and that employees are laid off in the correct order as noted above.

NOTE:  The data in this report is a “snapshot” of the current employee and contractor populations and may not include changes since the last monthly update, such as rescinded WARN notices and layoff notices to contractors.  Also, in some cases the data may appear to be in conflict with the contract.  In most cases, there is an explanation for what may look to be an error (particularly in groups with very small populations).  Please email speea@speea.org if you have any questions or concerns.
