Subject:††††††††† PRE-SUBMITTED NEW BUSINESS: Appropriation of FY 2011 Funds for Battle of the Bands




The purpose and goal of this event is to bring our two unions (SPEEA and IAM) together for fun, relaxation, team building and getting to know each other on a more personal level. This event can also help create a stronger community, by bringing our members together to find a common language using music, which may also provide a platform on which to build assistance for the earthquake victims in Japan, or many other charitable foundations that are in need.

Name of the Hall: Floral Hall


On 3/10/2011, the SPEEA Council approved the FY 2011 Main Budget which included an allocation of $1,000 for the Battle of the Bands line item.This dollar amount was requested by the NW Womenís Advocacy Committee and subsequently approved as a specific line item by the NW Council on 12/9/2010.


Per the SPEEA Treasurerís instructions, said allocation will require approval of the NW Council to appropriate said funds for the Womenís Advocacy Committee to perform the function of the committee.


As the main FY 2011 Budget motion has been approved, the committee respectfully requests this motion be given due consideration and approval by the Council.






It is moved THE NW COUNCIL APPROVEs THE womenís advocacy COMMITTEE APPROPRIATION OF $1,000 for the battle of the bands line item.
