Thousands show support for negotiations in SPEEA ‘Day of Action’

Thousands of SPEEA members around Puget Sound walked at Boeing factories and office complexes at lunch Jan. 9 in a show of solidarity and support for our Prof and Tech Negotiation Teams. Negotiation team members attended many of the events before heading to the SeaTac Hilton for the resumption of negotiations.

Members crowded hallways, walkways, cafeterias and even a worksite coffee shop, in 16 sites across Puget Sound and Oregon to show support. Members in Everett also leafleted at the gate at the start of first shift on Jan. 9 to help promote Day of Action and hand out new desk tents and negotiations informational fliers.

The Bargaining Unit Negotiations Support Committee and other member activists organized the events. In many areas, the crowds were the biggest to date for those sites. The Prof and Tech Negotiation Teams were appreciative of the strong showing of support and solidarity.
